Situated on the shores of the picturesque Lago d’Orta (Lake Orta) in enchanted natural surroundings, protected by the walls of an ancient monastery, this building complex preserves its identity by merging the austere architecture with the modern amenities provided to its guests. Capoferri provided bespoke automated openings as well as arched sash windows. The tailor-made solution allows the owners to maintain the architectural language of the surroundings as well as comply with the restrictions imposed by the local authorities. At the same time, the sophisticated openings of the lift-and-pivot doors allow the restaurant space to be opened up and blur the boundary between interior and exterior.
