The first official document of "Capoferri serramenti" dates back to 1894, when it was still an artisan carpentry shop. Today, thanks to the efforts of four generations, "Capoferri Serramenti" have reached a high level of specialization that allows us to offer unique and innovative solutions that are well accepted by designers, architects and owners alike. The first Italian company to use glue-laminated timber for window frames, in 1976 the company patented the "Capoferri multiple-joint glue-lam system" and began using it as the sole method for construction of all its windows. It also designs and develops systems with cladding from copper, stainless steel, bronze and brass. This eventually led to setting up our own mechanical workshop which now builds our bespoke profiles made from bronze, brass, stainless and iron with thermal break. It is also thanks to this workshop that "Capoferri Serramenti" is able to design and build its special hardware, especially mechanisms used to automate its frames, with no restrictions in terms of size and systems.
“I succeeded in building the company I dreamed of when I was twenty years old, when the desire to overcome the challenges that presented themselves would take over my soul and keep me nailed down to the drawing desk or in the laboratory for entire days and nights so that I could discover, experiment, invent. This burning passion contributed to my constant growth, and the happiness I still feel today while doing my job has made me insensitive to fatigue, so that the most tiring moments feel like the most pleasant ones and the difficult moments are forgotten. I’m a lucky man! My company values creativity, awards stubbornness and determination, stimulates research; today, my company employs one hundred and ten people, all with the goal of always doing better, at any cost. So, step after step, along the way we have worked with increasingly important design engineers, and have been involved in demanding and prestigious jobs which we were able to complete thanks to our hard work and our credo: it is too presumptuous of us to say that we have no boundaries, but these are so far removed from our mindset that it’s as if they did not exist.”
